Women Together Images - Free Download on FreepikTo celebrate the International Women’s Day, Migrant Resource Centre, MRC, has urged the Federal Government to put into action the National Gender Policy that demands 35 per cent involvement of women in governance processes.

It said few women are involved in government’s decision making processes, stressing that the Nigerian constitution should address the gap to favour the female gender.

Speaking in Lagos, Head of MRC Lagos, Maureen Ovie, also lamented that women make up half of the global population, yet they are underrepresented in leadership.

Also speaking, the pioneer Vice Chancellor, Afe Babalola University Ado Ekiti, ABUAD, Professor Sidi Osho, in her address, said women should be supported to make life better.
