In a landmark move, the Imo State, Governor Hope Uzodimma has approved $200 million investment for the provision of 24/7 electricity supply in Imo State.
This impressive feat is made possible through a strategic partnership with the Madkour Group from Egypt, who will provide the necessary funding, expertise and support in a strategic partnership with the government of Imo State.
The Governor who disclosed this to newsmen in Owerri, the State Capital, said the establishment of the Imo State Electricity Regulatory Commission is a critical component of the groundbreaking initiative.
Governor Uzodinma stated that the Imo State Electricity Regulatory Commission, which was also inaugurated will play a vital role in ensuring that the electricity supply is not only constant but also affordable and accessible to all.
He added that by regulating Orashi Electricity Company, the Imo State Electricity Regulatory Commission will prevent exploitation and ensure that the company operates in the best interests of the people.
