Giving this advice on his 2024 Easter message to Christians and Nigerian leaders, the Anglican Bishop of Egbu, the Rt. Rev. Geoffrey Enyinnaya Okorafor said that Our Lord Jesus having come to the world to save humanity from the captivity of Satan, leaders in government should emulate the good virtues of Jesus Christ to govern the people without sentiment, hatred, ethnicity and corrupt practices.
In the Easter message as released by the Diocesan Press Secretary, Henry Amadi, Bishop Okorafor pointed out that the reasons things are getting hard on people is because the leaders do not care or have love for the people they govern.
According to him, Easter is used to commemorate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ who came to the world and ruled with love, equity and justice. He said that these good virtues of Jesus and his victory over death are the reasons he is being extolled in thanksgiving today.
The Prelate therefore urged Christians to emulate Jesus, eschew hatred and corrupt practices but love the country with humility and patriotism. Adding that if Nigerian leaders will exhibit love and care for the governed, the nation will bounce back to its feet again to the delight of her citizens and the world at large.
