Members of Uratta Integrated Market Branch under the Nigerian Association of Cooperative Transporters Limited, Aba, Abia State organized a peaceful protest yesterday, expressing their grievances on unauthorized election of a new leader in their unit.
The group elected chairman, Mr Chukwudi Sunday complained that an individual, who is not a member of their union and happens to be a coffin seller, has been allegedly imposed on them by the state government. According to him, the group have decided that they will not accept anyone who is not a member of the association as their chairman.
Also, members of the union, Deacon David Ngozi and Mr. Samuel Elemuo while speaking with Magic FM correspondents, Praise Ashade and Carol Nwakanma, shared their grievances over the situation and appealed to the government to allow them elect their leaders themselves.
